Introduction

I love to travel and I love the outdoors. I have been trekking across North America since I was a young child. My dad was in the military and as a result I have lived and traveled all over the United States and Canada. My father is now retired and living in Beautiful British Columbia. Every summer my brothers and I join him on the West Coast for a week or two of hiking, wine tasting, sight seeing and relaxing. The mountains of Alberta and British Columbia have become our summer playground. This blog is going to detail our many adventures. The main focus will be on hiking but will also highlight other experiences that are worthwhile when traveling to this area of the world.

A little about myself and my family. I am a 20-something student. I spend the majority of the year sitting around buried in textbooks and on the computer. I am by no means an athlete and so when I write about these hikes I can guarantee that if I can haul myself up that mountain trail then pretty much anybody who is willing to push themselves can do it.

I have two younger brothers, also in their 20's. They are in much better shape than I am, they also have no fear. They go charging up a trail without a care whereas I follow along behind them at a slower and safer pace.

Our father is nearing his 60's and hikes from when the snow melts in the Spring to when it falls in the Winter. And in the winter, when he can't hike, he snowshoes. He is our guide to the the area and scouts out most of the trails that we go on ahead of time either with his wife or with the local outdoors club.

His wife, our step-mother joins us on our adventures from time to time. Her fitness level is somewhere between myself and my brothers.
